Nippori, which is near Ueno's retro-chic district, offers a similar vintage ambiance. While much of Tokyo is characterized by ultra-modern architecture and cosmopolitan features, this neighborhood has a much more grounded vibe. The Nippori Station itself is a solid intersection of different railway and bus lines, which will take you to other Tokyo districts and the Narita Airport.
