Nippori, which is near Ueno's retro-chic district, offers a similar vintage ambiance. While much of Tokyo is characterized by ultra-modern architecture and cosmopolitan features, this neighborhood has a much more grounded vibe. The Nippori Station itself is a solid intersection of different railway and bus lines, which will take you to other Tokyo districts and the Narita Airport. The district hosts different stores and fabrics, but also entertainment and temples.
